Management and Organisation
Opis predmeta
1 Purpose of the course
Purpose of the course is to enable students to understand management and organization as two connected areas of research, theory and practice. The knowledge gained will enable them to act as managers and/or to understand the managerial job. Whereas management is more practical – an applied science, it is based on the theory of organization (basic science). Both areas will be connected in an interesting and innovative way.
2 Goals of the course
Within the course students will be familiar with the phenomenon of organization first. The phenomenon will be shown to consist of structures and processes. The structural part will be explained first and will result in a coordinated managerial structure. The second part will deal with management and managerial processes. This part represents the content of most books on management. In the last part some organizational issues will be discussed.
