Smart city in practice

As part of Sustainability Week, we will visit Kranj Municipality on 12 May 2025 at 12:30 to learn about the new technologies they are using to improve the quality of life of the city's inhabitants.
About the visit
Students enrolled in the course Economics of Smart Cities and Communities will visit Kranj on May 12. Kranj was selected because it is part of the Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030. The city is also a recipient of the Golden Stone 2025 award for the most progressive municipality and was awarded the title of European Destination of Excellence based on its achievements in sustainable tourism. In addition, Kranj was named the safest city in Slovenia in 2022 and the most e-mobility-friendly municipality in 2021 due to its integrated approach to e-mobility.
