Luka Tomat has graduated in 2001 and continued to study at undergraduate level at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics (FELU), tackling Business Informatics study programme. He has gotten his B.Sc. degree in 2007 and than enrolled to the graduate study programme of Information management at the same faculty. After successful acquisition of M.Sc degree, Luka Tomat applied to FELU Doctoral programme, where he attended business track, concretely Management and Organization study programme. In his Ph.D. Luka Tomat tackled the area of operational research, where he focused on the field of optimization, explicitly he was studying One-dimensional cutting stock problem. He successfully defended his thesis in 2014. Luka Tomat was working at FELU as a young researcher from 2010 - 2014. After that period he cooperated with the FELU within various reasearch projects. Since 2017 Luka Tomat is a regular member of Academic Unit for Business Informatics and Logistics. He teaches several information management related courses and labs in both, Slovene and English. In his research he is focusing on research with respect to Information management, optimization, electronic business, business process management, big data analytics, IT in tourism and IT in healthcare. He also participates at several commercial projects.
