Matej Lahovnik is a full professor of management at the School of Economics and Business in Ljubljana. He is the author or co-author of several papers on the restructuring processes of firms. He has been a visiting scholar at Indiana University - Kelley School of Business and at the Caledonian Business School of the University of Glasgow. He was Minister of Economy in the Slovenian government in 2004 and in 2008-2010. In 2009, he was the government's chief negotiator on corporate governance and investment for OECD membership. As a full professor at the School of Economics and Business, he lectures in the fields of strategic management, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. He is vice-chairman of the supervisory board of the Krka pharmaceutical company and a columnist in Slovenian newspapers. He coordinated the group of economists and managers who assisted the Slovenian government in preparing economic measures to deal with the Covid19 crisis. He is currently a member of the Strategic Council for Macroeconomic Issues of the Slovenian Government.
