Mojca Bavdaž is Associate Professor of Statistics at the University of Ljubljana's School of Economics and Business. She received her PhD in 2007 (topic from survey methodology). During her undergraduate and graduate studies she studied abroad (University of Siena, University of Michigan, University of Lugano, Katholic University of Leuven). Her pedagogic work includes, besides the work at the University of Ljubljana's School of Economics and Business, work at the interdisciplinary master's programme of Applied Statistics and at the interdisciplinary doctor's programme of Statistics. Her research interests include official statistics, methods of data collection and presentation, and research methods. With her expertise, she actively participates in bodies of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (member of the Statistical Council, member of the Methodological Council, president of the Business Statistics Advisory Commitee). For more than a decade, she contributed to setting up and implementing the EMOS (European Master in Official Statistics) label owned by the European Statistical System Committee. She regularly forms part of several international programme committees of scientific meetings.
