World Tourism Day – Tourism and Peace
On September 27th, we celebrate World Tourism Day, initiated by the World Tourism Organization. This year’s theme, “Tourism and Peace,” emphasizes the importance of tourism for global peace and intercultural understanding.
The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) recently changed its name and brand to UN Tourism, reflecting its more modern approach. Part of UN Tourism is also the UN Tourism. TedQual certificate, which accredits the tourism programmes of the School of Economics and Business and ensures their quality.
With the start of the new academic year, changes are also taking place within the tourism programmes at UL SEB. The long-time head of the Tourism programme, Prof. Dr Tanja Mihalič, will be replaced by Prof. Kir Kuščer, PhD. The new Affiliate Members of UN Tourism are Professor Kir Kuščer, PhD, the future Head of the Tourism programme, and the Head of the Quality Assurance Office, Nuša Petek, PhD, who have replaced Professor Tanja Mihalič, PhD as the former Affiliate Member. We sincerely thank Professor Tanja Mihalič for her contribution to the development of tourism at the UL SEB.
