Freshmen reception 2024
On Monday, 30 September 2024, a new generation of students gathered at the University of Ljubljana School of Economics and Business for a freshmen reception, boldly embarking on a new chapter.
The reception, which took place the day before the official start of the academic year, heralded for the students that in the years to come, they will have to work hard, learn a lot and dedicate themselves to their studies, but also that they will have fun and make unforgettable moments.
Freshmen were first addressed by the Vice-Dean, Mojca Indihar Štemberger, PhD, who said a few words about the value of studying at UL SEB, the three accreditations the school has, which reflect the study quality.
Professor Mitja Kovač, PhD, spiced up the reception with the thousand-year-old story of the university’s founding and reminded them of the school’s values and rules. “Because our vision is not only to create new knowledge but to spread our values, our ideas.”
At the reception, prospective students had the opportunity to meet the winter semester’s professors. Matej Lino Pirc, President of the Student Council, and their senior colleagues warmly welcomed them, and they gave them some wise advice.
After the opening reception, there were workshops to learn more about the study programme and presentations on international opportunities and the Central Economics Library. Between the Small and Large halls, there were stands where they could find out more about the sports and activities organised by the Student Council. UL SEB’s Career Centre was also present, with a photo opportunity and a raffle.
We wish all of the freshmen who have started a new life at the School of Economics and Business, a lot of success!

SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Study process
The study process will be conducted in person at the school.
Enrollment in the faculty library is not automatic, however, you can easily enrol in CEL online, thus avoiding crowds and securing access to the rich collection of materials and e-resources in Digi*CEL today.
CEL will also welcome graduates and freshmen at the PopUp*CEL info point in the lobby between the Small and Great Halls, where you will find out all the key information about the library, reserving study places, remote access to e-resources, CEL training and purchasing study materials.
Most of the information about the library can already be found on eTutor*CEL.
- Physical Education
Registration training groups will occur from Tuesday, October 1 to Thursday, October 3, 2024, through the Canvas system in the SPORTS EDUCATION tab. Physical education professors will be available from Tuesday, October 1, to Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the lobby between the Small and Great Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Schedules for the winter semester 2024/2025 are published on Student-net. To access Student-net you’ll need your digital identity.

All important information about studying at the UL SEB can be found in the manual EFfective freshman, which will be sent to your e-mail address and published online.
