Tutoring and consulting
Tutoring: Together we achieve our goals! The best advice comes from those who have lived through similar experiences. That's why tutoring came into being. Tutors are volunteers who help students with their experience and knowledge. At the School of Economics and Business, peer support is an established practice. Tutoring is offered by senior students and postgraduate students with a good academic record.
Introductory tutoring
This scheme is for first-year undergraduate and postgraduate students and helps with the transition from secondary school to university. We encourage new students to take advantage of this opportunity and get the most out of their first year. Tutors can provide assistance with your studies and any administrative matters.

Subject tutoring
Subject tutoring is intended to provide students with additional help in understanding and mastering the subject matter. It is usually organized for subjects with more demanding and extensive study material in order to improve exam results. During the tutoring session, a student can ask for additional explanations on the parts of the material that they did not understand in the lectures and exercises. We recommend that the student informs the tutor in advance by e-mail if certain problems have arisen, in order to ensure faster and more efficient problem solving. Tutors also often advise on the most appropriate study methods and learning strategies for a particular subject and familiarize students with important information and literature for a particular subject.
The additional learning support provided by subject tutors is primarily aimed at first-year students. For certain subjects (e.g. Mathematics, Microeconomics, Statistics or Macroeconomics) the dates of the tutor meetings have already been arranged and can be followed in the tutor calendar. If you need tutoring in these or other subjects, please contact us at tutorji.ef@ef.uni-lj.si.
Tutoring for students with special needs
We have an individualised approach for students with special needs. The contact person for students with special needs and the student meet for a personal interview in which the student is informed about the forms of support and possible adjustments.
How do I become a tutor?
As a tutor, students in their senior year who choose to help out not only expand their network of acquaintances, but at the same time renew the knowledge acquired in previous years. And, of course, they also receive a certificate of completion. This certificate is often extremely useful when applying to foreign universities, where this is often a prerequisite.
