Economics of Projects (MASTER)

Goals

- To know basic and essential concepts for understanding economic and financial aspects of projects.
- To understand economic, social and environmental impacts of project in the light of sustainability
- To understand the methods for comprehensive evaluation of projects.
- To prepare an economic and financial analysis of a fictional investment project.

Syllabus

1. Introduction to economics and business performance analysis as a basis for economics of projects.
2. Basic accounting and financial statements used for economic and financial analysis of projects.
3. Financial analysis of projects (capital budgeting)
3.1. Investment outlay and sources of financing
3.2. Business plan: demand and projection o revenues, operational cost
3.3. Free cash flow
3.4. Financial profitability indicators
4. Economic analysis of projects: cost-benefit analysis
5. Sensitivity analysis and risk analysis
6. Workshop: financial analysis part of capital budgeting process
