German for Business and Economics 1 (UD)

Goals

The course aims to:
• Improve students' knowledge of business and economic terminology in German
• Introduce presentation techniques and improve students' competences of public speaking
• Develop and improve students' reading and listening comprehension as well as written and oral communication
• Encourage students towards critical thinking and active participation in various discussions in German.

Syllabus

The course topics include student education, public speaking, employment, business enviroment, corporate strategy and structure, financial reporting, finance raising, international trade, marketing and building and maintaining relationships as well as communication in different business situations (presentations, and written communication). Special attention is given to business and economic terminology, written communication (e.g. personal and company profiles, covering letters and CVs), and more complex grammatical structures as well as reading and listening comprehension.
