Jaka Cepec was born in 1981, graduated law with “cum laude” at the University of Ljubljana, School of Law (Slovenia). He gained his Master of Science degree in the field of corporate and contract law at the University of Maribor, School of Law (Slovenia). In 2014 he finished his PhD on the Law and Economics of Insolvency Law at the School of Law, University of Ljubljana.He publishes in the fields of Insolvency law, corporate law and in the field of law and economics. His main work focuses on empirical legal research. He is a author or co-author of four books and numerous articles. He was awarded with the Best young lawyer award of 2014 by the Slovenian association of Lawyers and was granted the Fulbright post doc fellowship in spring 2018, which he spent at Washington and Lee University in Virginia, US.
