Mateja Bodlaj is an Associate Professor for marketing at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. Before the employment at the faculty she has worked as a program manager in a marketing department. She received her PhD in 2009 with the topic on the relationship between market orientation, innovation and business performance. She has cooperated in several marketing courses; currently she teaches Principles of Marketing, Marketing Planning, Small Business Marketing, and Pricing Strategies. Her main research topics are related to market orientation, small business marketing, and export performance of SMEs. Her articles have been published in journals, such as Journal of Business Research, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of East European Management Studies, Journal of Business Economics and Management, and Economic Business Review, as well as a part of the monograph European Retail Research. She is a member of editorial board of the Slovenian scientific marketing journal Akademija MM. She is a member of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC) and the Slovenian Marketing Association (SMA).
