Master of Arts
Sport is more than just a game or competition; it is also a way of life and makes an important contribution to the development of society.
In the Master's programme Management in Sport, implemented by the UL SEB and the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Sport, you will develop key skills for managing sports organisations, sports facilities, and events, developing strategies, working with people, and making decisions in functional areas such as marketing, finance, etc.
We will ensure that you:
-
acquire up-to-date knowledge via the carefully designed structure of the programme,
-
gain valuable practical experience and skills,
-
build a business network of contacts,
-
create a sound basis for your future employment.
You will gain insight into the practical issues of sports organisations, partly through insightful lectures from experienced national and international guests. However, you will gain most of your practical experience in the Research and Consultancy Project in a Sport Organisation subject. Each year, we work with at least one sports organisation (client) to determine the topic of a project, the main purpose of which is to bring students closer to the practical aspects of running a sports organisation. The client defines the initial question, on the basis of which we agree on the structure of the project and the research methodology. The project is supervised by an academic mentor, which allows students to develop their analytical skills, become familiar with research and consultancy work, and gain valuable practical experience. Presenting the project to the management of the sports organisation and sometimes to the general public increases students' motivation and develops their public speaking skills.
